Water's Edge and Right Angle Performance PDF Print E-mail

Water's Edge is pleased to announce a new business partnership that will bring an added dimension to the services we offer to high-performance paddling clients. Right Angle Performance, the new paddle sport coaching company owned and operated by Kamini Jain, will join Water's Edge to manage and deliver the Elite Performance Arm of Water’s Edge. We are excited to work with Kamini to bring new and innovative products and services to the paddle sport community!

Kamini brings a wealth of experience as both a paddler and a coach. As an athlete she has enjoyed international success in sprint kayaking, earning 11 World Cup medals and competing in two Olympic finals (2000 and 2004). Since retiring from the National Kayak Team after the Athens Olympics, she has placed 4th in the 2004 Molokai OC-6 Crossing and won at the 2006 World Club Crew Dragon Boat Championships, the 2007 World Dragon Boat Championships, the 2008 World Sprint Outrigger Championships (V-6) and the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Canadian Nationals (OC-1).

Kamini’s inspiration to keep competing at a high standard is, in part, to keep her on the cutting edge of coaching techniques. Her coaching objective is to help get paddlers on podiums. She has had success in this, coaching the False Creek Racing Canoe Club’s Men’s and Mixed Premier Dragon Boat Teams to 6 international medals since 2006 and a berth at the 2009 World Championships. At this year’s World Outrigger Sprints she had her debut as Canadian Coach, with the team recording a best ever performance with 15 medals. Kamini also works with teams and individuals striving for more local podiums by providing coaching, consulting and training programs.

Through our partnership with Right Angle Performance, Water's Edge will be able to deliver programs that will bring any paddler, regardless of experience, to their next level of excellence.
